The bronze Lord Shiva is the highest statue in Mauritius. The 33-metres-tall Hindu god is a guard of Ganga Talao, a crater lake in Savanne. It is a faithful copy of the Shiva statue in India and also known as Mangal Mahadev.
Next to the statue you can find a temple which is considered as the most sacred Hindu place on Mauritius. All the tourists are welcome to visit it - just do not forget to take off your shoes.
